WoW, this was a huge nerf. I’m getting crits on Thunderstomp for 1.1K with BW active now. Pre-patch it was hitting for 1.8K. AoE aggro is severly nerfed. Tried some farming, but pulled aggro all the time with volley. Never happened pre-patch while BW was active.
Guess we should have learned by now that when Blizzard states they are changing how it works, but that the damage should still be about the same, they are lying.

I am having terrible luck with pet agro. It used to be when I was in Survival I would steal agro from my pet quite easily, but never when I was spec’d BM. Now though I am taking agro like the pet is not even there.
Typical fight, pet rounds up about 5 level 80s. Misdirect pet cast multishot, then volley. By the time volley has finished I will have atleast half the monsters on me. I am using a bear pet to, as it should have better agro for farming with the 2 aoe spells, it has not be the case thus far.
Hope things get better.

I had herd about this as well. It doesn’t surprise me that thunderstomp has been reduced in dmg and probably threat coeff as it was too powerful (compared to other trees) to be readily given to all tenacity pets. I have many questions about this new talent like will it scale off AP now instead of just +dmg modifiers.
When Ghost said the other tenacity pets should get to have aoe tanking fun he meant the gorilla should not have as much…
Cyian if i were to use a bear to AoE tank things now i would turn off claw and maybe even growl to make sure that these two important skills get all the focus and are used whenever they are up.

Is the bears sweep 3 targets or unlimited now?
If you want AoE threat to your pet, instead of using multishot, I recommend that you use Explosive trap with your MD. When you’re volleying you should stand next to your tanking pet anyhow so that it can regain aggro with Thunderstomp.
Also, crocolisks will be much better AoE tanks than bears with its Bad Attitude snap backs. It’s like a Thorn-buff on steroids.
